Castion Veronese, 2023 - on going
Castion Veronese, the town where the new residential complex is located, is located in an area of great naturalistic value on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, in a hilly area at the foot of Monte Baldo.
Located on the southern side of the town, the area in which the residential complex is located finds its location on the border between the urban fabric of the town and the surrounding nature, enjoying both contexts. The area, in fact, faces north towards the nearby houses, and south towards a green landscape. In fact, the lot enjoys wide and privileged sightlines, oriented east towards the town of San Verolo, and south-west towards Lake Garda, which remains the backdrop to the hilly landscape typical of the area.
The project was born from a reading of the territory and its morphological characteristics. The terraces typical of the Lake Garda area for crops, with their retaining walls and grassy plains, as well as the narrow alleys that wind between the local villages, are elements taken as the basis for a contemporary design review.
The residential complex, in fact, through a delicate remodeling of the orography of the lot's land, is characterized by its terraced conformation harmoniously inserted into the landscape.
The inhabited volumes are grafted together and at the same time lie on top of them, finding their orientation to best enjoy the exposure and the views. The accommodations therefore have their own configuration in order to guarantee an adequate level of privacy with respect to the views and open spaces.
The project was developed with great attention to detail and coherence in both the exterior and interior. The materials chosen were selected because they are durable and have excellent technical characteristics. In all surfaces, the materiality in its naturalness is enhanced: wood, stone, concrete, aluminum are the main protagonists.

The facades facing south and west are characterized by a wooden slat cladding which also integrates the window closing systems which at the same time become sunshades.
Each villa is different from the others. All houses have a strong relationship with the surrounding landscape and their own gardens. Large sliding windows eliminate the separation between inside and outside: the house and the garden interact and become one.
This dialogue which is at the same time filtered by transitory spaces: patios, porches, pergolas or loggias that mediate between the house and the surrounding world.
Each terrace garden always has a lawn area overlooking the main view, which mainly coincides with the roof surface of the building below, a green roof that contributes to improving the energy performance of the building and promoting water recovery.
The distribution and choice of the different tree species is designed to give greater privacy and intimacy to the various gardens, without however affecting the privileged views of the surrounding landscape. Depending on the sun exposure, the vegetation varies from thickets of shrubs, with aromatic and perennial herbs, to cooler, shielding evergreen vegetation. The grassy areas fade along the edges into a flowery meadow, a floral mix of local species that acts as a vector for sustainable biodiversity.
In every house the relationship with the surrounding landscape and with open spaces is a recurring character. The custom-made furnishing elements interact with the gardens such as a bookcase that frames a window overlooking the pool, becoming a place to sit or a kitchen that communicates along its entire length with plants and aromatic essences.
