Udine, 2011
A residential neighbourhood designed on the basis of the quality of open spaces and typological diversity.
Open spaces play a decisive role in the project and constitute a connective tissue between the different places and functions that make up the new district.
The project is divided into one commercial zone and two residential areas separated by an internal road, with different typological characteristics: an open courtyard to the north and a system of residential blocks aggregated to the south with shops and offices on the ground floor
The different settlement strategies formulate a neighbourhood filled with private and public green areas, paths and visuals.
The different settlement strategies formulate a neighbourhood filled with private and public green areas, paths and visuals.
The aggregation of the types of housing is based on an exact relationship between the distribution system and the structural and plant framework that allows considerable variety and flexibility in terms of typology, with minimal impact on the overall project: a single structural step orders the different cuts and their multiple combinations, generating considerable possibilities for variations.
